He is Risen!!

We had a very special Easter weekend with family and friends. Saturday night, we had the Martin's over for dinner and coloring eggs (Charlotte should be a pro at this point!). It was a beautiful night so we kicked off our summer nights on the deck! The big girls enjoyed dinner in leotards and tutus, and made/ate some beautiful eggs. The Easter bunny was very good to our girls, the highlights were Charlotte's grinch movie (which she had been asking for since Christmas) and Olivia's new baby. Of course, we started Sunday off by singing Hallelujah at a beautiful church service. The girls made butterflies with their hand prints to signify new life. (They are still on our fridge in November!) After rest time, we went to JaJa and Papaw's for one final egg hunt and a delicious meal. Hallelujah, He is Risen!

Thank you, Nana for their adorable baskets!
Livi came with me to set up my Sunday school classroom, so I had a few minutes with her to get some pictures. Nana gave her this beautiful dress for Christmas before she was born! What a perfect occasion for such a gorgeous dress!
The usual post-church playground time
These didn't go over as planned...
So mom and dad wore them!

UT Golf Club Easter Egg Hunt

This is one of our favorite Easter events each year. The Leavell's were so sweet to invite us back to the golf club brunch and egg hunt. They have the best petting zoo! The club is beautiful, all of the beautiful flowers and little girls in their sweet, spring clothes make me happy! I think Liv is going to be our little animal lover, she loved petting everybody! We don't get to see the Leavell's nearly as much as we would like, but we always pick up right where we left off and have a great time!

The only pic of Kash... I'm pretty sure he was off using this sword the rest of the time!
"Awww... look at that cute little thing!"
"And so soft too!"
"I think I'll take a bite!" (And she actually tried!!!)

10 Months

So because life is crazy, and because I require a lot of sleep, and because I keep you girls up too late after work because I missed you.... here I am blogging your 10 month photo when you are 17 months old. And because you are the second, I don't remember how many teeth you had or what you liked to eat or what your stats were at your 9 mo visit. But I will tell you my Liv, that when I look at this photo I get the biggest grin on my face and the biggest tear in my eye. What I do remember is how clearly you said "Mama", and that you said it 1000 times a day. I do remember that you didn't crawl (or attempt to move at all for that matter) so you had a permanent spot on my hip. And I do remember that you were adamant about never giving up that spot when we were together. And I clearly remember saying, "I won't complain because I know that all too soon she will take off and I will be so sad". And isn't that the truth. I do remember how easy it was to make you smile for all 10 months of these monthly photos once you could smile. You have so much joy in your heart. It is hard to believe that you had such little blond fuzz and such chubby cheeks, and how fast that has changed. You were sure a beautiful baby, my sweet girl! I am so thankful to have these photos to help keep these days in my memory forever and ever.

Palm Sunday

Our church celebrates Palm Sunday with an outdoor service and Easter egg hunt at Angel's Icehouse. It is a local restaurant with a beautiful outdoor seating area and plenty of space to hide eggs. It also happened to be Sam's 33rd birthday! It was a very chilly morning, but we got a spot under the patio by the fire so we really enjoyed it. And of course, Charlotte and Brooke loved the egg hunt afterwards!
