Zilker Tree Lighting

One of my favorite Austin traditions is the Zilker Park Christmas tree and Trail of Lights. I remember twirling under the tree with Sam in college, and taking Karsen Lane to the Trail of Lights every year. It is crowded and cold and parking is terrible, but it just wouldn't be Christmas without it. We decided to take the girls to the lighting of the tree this year. I was afraid it could be a huge mistake, but it was perfect. The weather was warm, and we got their early and parked right next to the tree. We had a picnic dinner, sat on our blanket and listened to Christmas carols. Charlotte LOVED the childrens choir and adult orchestra. She could watch the instruments play for hours. The perfect parking spot on the way in was also the last one out :) But we rolled down the windows and sang Christmas carols, and both girls were happy as can be. We will sure be going back next year!
