Father's Day

Charlotte and Francie's Summer Fun!!

Charlotte and Francie have had tons of fun on Thursday's this summer! Rolly Pollies is not offering a Thursday class this summer but we decided to keep our weekly playdate anyway! The girls have definitely enjoyed it and so have the mama's!! We have been to the Children's Museum, Zilker Park, a couple of fun restaraunts, the pool, the duck pond and of course to each others houses to play. Last Thursday we had to go to HEB in the morning before meeting our friends and before I even mentioned our playdate Charlotte started saying "Francie" over and over in the car like she knew it was our play day!! Casey and I love dreaming of the days the girls will walk into kindergarden together at Regents. We'll keep praying!!

Francie's neighborhood pool is a blast!

Charlotte loves to be sure that her friends are well hydrated and get plenty of snacks :)

Charlotte decided to eat the bread instead of sharing with the ducks :)

Still finishing off the bread on the way home

Swimming Lessons

Charlotte started taking swim lessons in May and loves it! There is a new Nitro swim center right outside of our neighborhood. It is an indoor facility that starts with baby lessons all the way through competitive swim team for the older kids. We are thrilled to have it so close to home so our kids can learn to swim early. Charlotte's lesson is every Wednesday night at 6:30. Mommy took her to the first lesson but quickly decided it would be a great job for daddy (kind of chilly in there!). Charlotte has the routine down now and starts gathering her stuff up and yelling "da da, swim!!" on Wednesday nights. Mama enjoys the quiet time at home to wind down and make dinner after 3 days at work. These pics aren't great, they are taken through the glass but you get the idea!

They start off with swimming for toys and putting them in the bucket...

Learning with her teacher

They use these cute mirrors to get them on their back - smart!

Not her favorite part but getting the hang of it!

Getting to splash with her friends at the end, guess who's favorite part this is!!

Hawaii Day 6

The boys headed out early on our last day to do the Blue Helicopter Tour. All of our friends had told us it was a "must do", but we had a hard time being convinced that it was worth a LOT of money! Jeanne Ann and I were definitely out, no thank you. But we did finally talk Sam and David into going together. It was probably their last opportunity for a long time if not forever, and they were dying to see the last litle bit of The Big Island that they couldn't get to by car. Poor Sammie got pretty sick in a hurry so he didn't enjoy the ride too much. But they did see some amazing views and were happy that they did it. Jeanne Ann, Char and I stayed home to do laundry, get packed up and go for a few swims. We watched one last sunset, had one last seafood dinner and headed to the airport. Our flight left at 10:45pm, we were all pretty miserable by the time we took off. Poor Charlotte's eyes were soooooo pitiful. The flight was full so we had to make a bed of beach towels across our legs for her. Needless to say she slept all the way to Austin, and for about 48 hours when we got home. Sweet baby.

Hawaii Day 5

So by day 5 we were finally getting used to the time change and actually slept until 6am!! Sleeping in Kona was fabulous... essentially the whole condo was open, and the sounds of the ocean crashing and the constant breeze were unreal. The trade off was that when the sun came up and the birds starting singing, everybody was up! And that was at about 5:45am!! So, we hit the pool early. I noticed that the signs said that it opened at 9am... oops. It was like 6:30. We decided to just be quiet. Easy enough, right? Look at our sweet little angel.

Uh oh... she warmed up pretty fast!

And here's by 6:45ish... sorry neighbors!!

Alligator, alligator on the wall...

Alligator, alligator watch me fall!!!

Two peas in a pod :)

After breakfast we headed to Hapuna beach, just about 30 minutes north on the coast. Wow, it was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. We swam and relaxed on the beach for a couple hours and then headed home. Charlotte took a 4 hour nap that afternoon!!! So we had a little swimming time and nap time too!

Off they go again!

It was windy!

Rest time with Mama

For dinner, we went to Splasher's grill. Another recommendation by Uncle Vinny, he has good taste! It was one of the best fish 'n chips I've ever had!! I think his recommendation was actually for the $2 bud lights but we'll still give him credit. ;)

Lots of action down there to watch!
