Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve. I went to the hospital early in the morning so Sam and Charlotte had some time to play together. Christen Needham came over for lunch and we had a great time catching up with her and taking her for a tour of the house. Then, Sam and I tried to do a little bit of cooking while Charlotte destroyed the kitchen. We headed to JaJa and Papaw's mid-afternoon and Charlotte got to open her first present, a little car. She LOVED it! She had to take a nap before church and she sobbed when I pried her off of it to go to bed. We went to 5:00 service which was beautiful. We had a hard time with the candlelit silent night, it just will never be the same without David. It breaks my heart to see the Thompson's in so much pain. It sure puts things into perspective. I know they would trade all of the presents and beautiful sparkly Christmas decorations and wonderful food just to have their David back. Thankfully Christmas reminds us that Jesus came to give us the promise that we will be with him again soon. We had a yummy tamale dinner with Mama Sally at the Thompson's after church and opened lots of presents. We had a good time and there were even quite a few laughs. My two favorite gifts were Charlotte's adorable dolly and my first pair of real cowboy boots, yay!!!!

We let Charlotte open her first present in hopes that we could do some cooking - fridge letters!

Yay!! It's a hit!

Excited about being on the way to Christmas celebration #1!

Your new car! Helping Papaw get the wheels on.

Thank you Nana for her beautiful dress, it was my favorite Christmas present last year and even better this year with her in it!

Learning how to climb on...

and learning how to use it as a stool to get on the coffee table!

Jeanne Ann created the cutest game for Sam for his gift. He only asked for money so she bought him a bunch of games and created a rhyme that went with each game until he finally got to his money. It was so much fun! And now we have some games in the game closet!!

Love this adorable dolly!

I got Jeanne Ann this sign... thank goodness she was not offended and thought it was funny!!

Charlotte found her stocking that JaJa made her, so cute! (Yes, her pants came off. They were too long. It is a common occurence.)

Playing with Mama Sally

Laughing at her dolly

Mama Sally stole her dolly...

... and she thought it was soooo funny!
